The Christmas season brings joy and togetherness to everyone, young and old. It is a time for kindness, giving, and spending precious time with loved ones and friends. Like in other parts of the country, it is a pretty big deal in The Villages® Community in Florida.
Even though The Villages® Community is the largest retirement community globally, its residents are big kids at heart. In years past, there have been lots of Christmas golf cart parades on each square, tree lighting ceremonies, special events, along with nightly holiday festivities. Christmas time in The Villages® Community may be slightly different this year because of COVID-19, but that doesn't mean the Christmas spirit here will be any less.
There are many entertainment events to liven up the holidays this year in The Villages® Community. The Savannah Center is holding various holiday concerts and events, complete with social distancing and sanitation protocols. These events can be found on their main website HERE.
With Florida back open in full force, most of the holiday events of years past will still be happening this year; however, most likely will be putting safety measures to prevent the virus's spread. The Christmas decorations and lights in The Villages® Community and surrounding areas have always brightened the hearts of residents and visitors alike, and this year is sure to be no different.
Indeed, with everything we have all been through this year, people will be filled with the Christmas spirit more than ever. The holidays will be the shining light in the year that turned the world upside down.
